Over the past few weeks, our team has been working diligently to prepare for the production of The First Save, a powerful short film inspired by the true story of America’s first Black paramedics. And thanks to your incredible support — we’re now 77% funded with 33 days to go!

If you’ve already contributed, thank you. Every share, every comment, every dollar has brought us closer to making this story a reality.

So, where do we stand?

Script locked. We’ve fine-tuned the story down to the last detail. The short film stands alone, but introduces audiences to the emotional and historical core of a larger feature we hope to make next: Freedom House.

From visuals to tone, we’ve built materials to communicate the film’s vision and purpose — for producers, investors, and festival programmers alike.

Scene-by-scene breakdown done. We’ve mapped out every beat so we can shoot smart and stretch every dollar. If we had to film this on a shoestring? We could. But we’re still aiming higher.

Casting underway.Alexander is locked. Now we’re assembling the rest of the cast to bring the Hill District of 1978 to life.

🎥 Shooting schedule: 3 days. We’re currently budgeting and planning for a three-day shoot using the Blackmagic 6K, renting lenses and keeping the footprint lean but cinematic.

What’s next? We’re pushing toward 100% funding — and once we hit that magic number, we’re officially greenlit on Seed&Spark and can begin pre-production in full.

If you haven’t yet, consider joining us as a supporter. Every contribution gets us closer to telling this important story.
